On 25 Nov 1694 Gertruy married Johannes Andriesz Scherp, son of Andries Hanse Scherp (ca 1640-) & Ariaanje Janse (ca 1642-), in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.156 Johannes Andriesz Scherp, y.m., and Geertruy Rees, y.d.; both live near New Albany. Born ca 1670 in Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York.

“Johannis Scherp” was a freeholder in Claverack in 1720.241

Johannes was a witness at the 1710 Albany baptism of his nephew Willem, son of Andries Rees and Ariaantje Scharp.156

17633. Cornelia Rees. Born ca 1685 in Coxsackie, Greene County, New York. Cornelia was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 16 Sep 1685.156 Cornelis, of Willem Rees; wit. Phlip Leendertsz [perhaps Philip Leendertzen Conyn]; presented for baptism by Agnietje Henderiksz.

Cornelia was very likely a daughter of William Andriesse Rees; the baptism says “Cornelis” but could be a misprint for “Cornelia”. Furthermore, the witnesses at her son Andreas’s 1712 baptism were Wilhelm Roos and wife Catherina; also the witnesses at her daughter Cornelia’s 1718 baptism were Leonhard and Volckge Rees, and Leonhard was very likely the son of William Andriesse Rees.
On 28 Oct 1704 Cornelia married Pieter Lansing, son of Pieter Lassingh (-7 Feb 1708/9) & Catharina Hoffmayer, in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.156 After 3 banns, Pieter Lanssing Jr., born at Albany, living at Lange Rak, and Cornelia Rees, y.d., born at Koxhakki, living at colony in Rensselaerwyck. Born ca 1677/80 in Albany, Albany County, New York.555 Pieter died in Dutchess County, New York 1762/1765.234

In 1714 “Peter Lasink” was the head of a household in Dutchess County with one male 16-60 (himself), 4 males under 16, and one female 16-60 (his wife).556

Peter Lasseing, or Lassink, was on the taxpayer list of Fishkill and Rombout for 1718-1729.557

Peter and Cornelia were witnesses at several baptisms: 1728 for their nephew Lawrenz, son of Yzaak and Sarah Lassing; 1732 for their grandson Johannes, son of Johannes and Catharina Lassing; 1737 for their granddaughter Cornelia, daughter of Pieter Pieterse Lassing and Anna Maria.

Volkje’s older sister Sara married Leonhard’s younger brother Jonathan a year before Volkje married Leonhard.

Jonathan was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 26 Jan 1690.156 Jonathan, of Andries Rees, witness Dirk Ten Broek, presented for baptism by Styntje [Christina] Ten Broek. Jonathan died in Claverack, Columbia County, New York aft 24 Nov 1753. Religion: Lutheran.

Although Jonathan’s baptism says “of Andries Rees,” his father was probably William Andries Rees, not William’s son Andries. Jonathan’s first son Hendrick’ baptismal witnesses were William and his wife Catharina, not Andries and an unknown wife (Andries married his first known wife in 1697).

The member list for the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rhinebeck, about Feb 1734, has Jonathan Rees, his wife Sarah, Henrich, Volje, Francisca, Jean, Wilhelm, and Jonathan. Catarina is not listed.

Jonathan and Sara were witnesses at the 1734 baptism of Lea, daughter of Thomas Gertser [Carter] & Margreta (on the same day Thomas and Margret were witnesses for Jonathan and Sarah’s son Jonathan), also the 1742 baptism of Abraham, son of Jacob and Gertruyd Van Hoesen.
