His mother signed off to him all of her right and title to her late husband’s land in Plymouth. His name appears on the court records in several matters. In July, 1699, John Dunham complained that he beat him in the highway. He had the pugnacity of his combative father. In 1676 he and Jacob Cooke had a dispute in court over some marshland. In 1681 he entered suit against Nathan Southworth for breach of contract. He was a juryman in 1675-6-9, and 1680-3-4. In 1671 he was highway surveyor, and again in 1675, and in 1680 was constable. Thomas and Catherine resided ‘over the river.’45

Thomas was a slodier at Louisburg, and in the Crown Point Campaign.529
15 Feb 1703/4 Thomas married Catherine Caswell in Hingham, MA.45 Born ca 1681. Catherine died in Hingham, MA on 2 Apr 1761.45

Catherine was called Katern Castle in the intention, and Keatren Ceacel in the marriage record.

Catherine is often identified with Catherine Caswell born probably in Taunton, the daughter of William and Mercy (Lincoln) Caswell. But Mercy was born 3 Apr 1670 in Taunton, so that’s not likely.

Several of Catherine’s male descendants were named Caswell, so it is evidnent that her surname was Caswell, but it is not certain who her parents were. It has also been suggested that she is Catherine Caswell, daughter of Stephen & Hannah (Thrasher) Caswell of Taunton. Stephen and Hannah were married in 1672, so they could have had a daughter Catherine born about the right time. There does not seem to be, however, any reason to believe that Stephen and Hannah had a daughter named Catherine or that any of their daughters married a Mr Jones.
