(#177) Cornelius Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 2 June, 1707, m. 24 March, 1742-3, Hannah Phelps, she (daughter of Thomas and Hannah Phelps) b. Poquonock, Windsor, Ct., 28 Sept., 1709, of the line of George, brother of Mr. William Phelps of 1630. He m. 2nd, Mary .
Mr. Phelps settled in Windsor, Ct. It would appear that this Cornelius joined the Revolutionary Army, Nov. 5th, 1781, and died in the service, Jan. 18, 1782. His will, dated Nov. 8th, 1781, mentions his [second] wife Mary, sons Cornelius and Job. To Cornelius he gives his blacksmith shop and tools, and mentions daughter Hannah, wife of Martin Pinney, daughter Ann, wife of Joseph Griswold, and Mary, wife of David Pinney.
