Matilda Caroline Todd, b. 4 May 1820, m. 22 Jun 1853 Eli Perry of Albany. The ancestry of Eli Perry is given in a footnote summarized as follows.
1 Blake Perry, b. England, lived in Wales, was a sea captain, sailed to America, lived in Providence, RI. He had two sons
    1.1. Jeremiah Perry, m. a Miss Brayton
1.2. Valentine Perry, m. Deborah Chase of RI. They had 3 sons and 3 daughters
1.2.1. John Perry, m. Sarah Wilkinson of Providence
1.2.1.1. John Perry, m. Jeannie Searles, parents of Eli Perry mentioned above.

If the Blake Perry mentioned in the footnote is this Blake Perry, then the story about him coming from England and Wales is a misremembrance. Valentine Perry did marry Deborah Chase at Tiverton 15 Mar 1746/7.
