Ephraim died in Norton, MA on 2 May 1786.

Apparently, Ephraim married five times and survived them all. First Martha Perkins; second Judith Perkins; third Melatiah (Fisher) (Ware) Ware, widow of Jonathan Ware and Benjamin Ware; fourth Abigail (King) Williams, widow of John Williams; and fifth Anna (Clap) (Woodworth) Ruggles, widow of Elisha Woodworth and Timothy Ruggles.
