A paper in his handwriting contains the following memoranda: ‘l was admitted a member into the church May 23, 1725, in the 22nd year of my age. I entered into the marringe state in my 28th year, and my wife in her 32nd year. She died in childbed October 10, 1732. I was again married September 24, 1734, in my 31st year and my wife in her 36th year. I was chosen Deacon of the church in May 1745, tho’ much unfit for it. Good God, give me grace to be faithful to Thee, to the Chureh, and to my own soul.’ He made his will January 1, 1772, being ‘desirous to set my houee in order.’”
