Ca 1758 Samuel married Mercy Doty (25642) , daughter of Benjamin Doty (10068) (30 May 1689-bef 25 Jun 1770) & Hester Beamont (11259) (ca 1690-bef 19 May 1773). Born ca 1738 in Saybrook, CT. Mercy died aft 1810.

Samuel Doty and Martha Doty were first cousins once removed. His paternal grandfather and her father were brothers. They were also second cousins. His paternal grandmother and her maternal grandmother were sisters.
