    Samuel Newhall was in his youth adopted by his uncle, Thomas Farrar, who in his will of 5 June, 1730, proved 11 Jan., 1733, bequeathed the bulk of his estate to him and Richard Hood, another kinsman.
    Nov. 9, 1739, Samuel Newhall, with the consent of his wife, conveys to Joseph Swett of Marblehead a parcell of real estate received from Thomas Farrar.
    His will of 28 July, 1768, proved 1 Oct., 1770, mentions his three sons, Pharaoh, Abijah and Daniel, daughters Anna Estes, Elizabeth Newhall, Sarah Newhall, Lydia Johnson, Abigail Purinton, Rebecca Chase and Ruth Newhall (the latter unmarried) also brother Elisha Newhall.
    His death is entered in the Quaker Records as in October, 1770. The same record the death of his wife Kezia as 9 October, 1749; but the town records give the year as 1748.
