Samuel was living in New Bedford, MA, when he enlisted in Capt. Thomas Crandon’s Company in 1775. Later in Capt. Benjamin Dillingham’s company in 1776, and in the Navy in 1779 under Capt. Landais on the frigate Alliance. Samuel and Jerusha settled in Hanover, then removed to Holden, Worcester Co., MA.226
