Enos served his apprenticeship at the Brick Kiln shipyard with hs father and brothers, and built there until 1789 when he went to Salem, and removed his familty to that place in July 1791. His shipyard was located at South Salem, where, between 1791 and 1818, he built over 50 vessels, the largest being 850 tons, the smallest, 96 tons.42

Elisha was a shipbuilder, and with his brother Alden Briggs succeeded his father at the Brick Kiln Yard. Elisha lived on Washington St., North Pembroke, untill 1911. After 1811 he removed to Newburyport , where he built several vessels. He was a soldier in the American Revolution.42

Daniel learned his trade of shipbuilding with his father at the Brick Kilns. He served in the Revolutionary war as well as the war of 1812. By 1792 he was building in Weymouth on the Fore River. He lived on the Braintree side of the river. In 1785 he purchased a house and land bordiering on the Neponset River in Milton. There he lauched two vessels in 1786 and 1788, but in 1789 went to Germantown, Quincy, were he built the Massachusetts, which was launched that year. He then returned to Milton, bought the Foye estate in 1805, and continued shipbuilding at the foot of Milton Hill until 1815. Daniel served in the Revolutionary War and in the War of 1812 in chich eh was a Lieutenant in Capt. John Lillie’s Milton Company:; ordered to march to Cohasset, where enemy’s troops were expected to land. They marched as far as Hingham, and there learned that their services were not needed.42
In 1782 Daniel first married Jane Lothrop, daughter of Edward Lothrop (14 Aug 1728-21 Feb 1775) & Abigail Howard (18 Nov 1733-23 Dec 1774).42 Born on 4 Mar 1764 in Bridgewater, MA. Jane died in 1791.42

On 29 Nov 1787 when Abigail was 31, she married William Briggs (53911) , son of William Briggs (37638) (23 Jul 1731-5 Dec 1815) & Elizabeth Copeland (44681) (6 May 1736-26 Aug 1828), in Pembroke, MA.395 Born on 15 Mar 1760 in Scituate, MA.52 William died ca 1812.42

In 1789 William and Nabby resided in Braintree, and later in Milton.42

Thomas learned his trade as a shipbuilder in his father’s yard at Brick Kilns, and in 1789 was a shipwright at Briantree, probably with his brother Daniel. He afterwards went to sea as a captain, but left the sea and became a merchant in Boston, conducting a business there for may years. He lived in Dorchester.42
In 1795 Thomas married Susanna Blake.42

Alden was a farmer, a shipbuilder, and an expert iron worker, and as such was especially in demand by his brothers Enos and Daniel at Salem and Milton. He built vessels at the Brick Kiln yard, at first in company with his brother Elisha, who later removed to Newburyport. Alden then conducted building at the Brick Kiln yard for himself when not employed by his brothers elsewhere, and built in company with others at the yard in Pembroke as late as 1832.42

Alden “was an interesting man, and some amusing incidents are told of him. One of his peculiarities was that of adding compound interest, from year to year, to the original cost of his possessions, so that instead of depreciating, their value became increased. By this reckoning, he valued his watch at one time at over @2,000, and his anvil at about $1,500.”42
On 9 Oct 1788 when Alden was 25, he married Marcy Hatch (45060) , daughter of Capt.
