    William Stockbridge lived first on Broadway, where Levi Perry now [1853] resides ; then on King Street, where George Bailey lives; and finally settled on Curtis, now Main Street, and
built the house occupied by his son Lebbeus. In 1798 he was the greatest landholder then in Hanover; and was a man of ready wit, lively and sociable in his habits, an agreeable companion, and an industrious and upright citizen. He was Selectman in 1812.
