    David Stockbridge lived in Hanover where the new house of E. Q. Sylvester stands [in 1853], near N. River bridge, where he d. Dec. 13, 1788, ae. 75. He was Rep. from 1749-56, and from 1760-62, and 72; T. C. from 1744-74; J.P. under king George for many years; and was an extensive land holder, a man of large estate, a valuable citizen, eminently useful, and thoroughly versed in everything pertaining to public affairs. His Justice Records are still in existence, and are in the possession [in 1853] of his grandson, Lebbeus, of Hanover.
