Nathaniel died in Scituate, MA, on 27 Sep 1723; he was 37.52 Buried in First Parish Cemetery, Scituate Harbor. Education: Harvard 1703.53

From Deane’s History of Scituate:53
    Under the care of Mr Danforth of Dorchester, Nathaniel received his theological education. He first preached in Scituate in March 1705, during the illness of Mr Cushing. Again in May 1706, the Church and Society voted to invite him to preach, which he did for a few Sabbaths; and again in the summer of 1707, when he was invited to become their pastor. He was ordained on the 4th Wednesday of September 1707.

On 2 Dec 1712 when Deborah was 19, she married Capt. John Briggs (16842) , son of Capt. John Briggs (16083) (Dec 1644-22 Mar 1687) & Deborah Hawke (6194) (ca 1651-15 May 1711), in Scituate, MA.52 Born on 28 Apr 1687 in Scituate, MA.52 John died in Boston, MA, on 5 Nov 1721; he was 34.

John was born on the homestead at Conihassett shortly after his father’s death. John and Deborah resided at Scituate until 1714 when he sold part of the old estate at Conihassett to his cousin Joseph Briggs (son of Cornelius), and purchased from his aunt Hannah Jolles the house on Prince Street, Boston, which had been given to her by her father, Walter Briggs, on her marriage to Samuel Winslow.42

    John resided at Belle House in Scituate. He was Town Clerk from 1719 to 1744; representative from Scituate in 1721 and for several succeeding years; Judge of Probate Plymouth Co. 1739; Justice of the Court of Common Pleas (Plymouth Co.) from 1738 to 1751, when he was transferred to the Superior Court; Judge of the Superior Court from 1747 to 1771, when he resigned (Judge Cushing received his appointment to the Supreme Court from Washington); and a Councillor of the Province from 1746 to 1763. ‘His introduction into the office (of Councillor) was attended with a more unanimous vote than any ever before had--having all the votes save one.’— Rev. Josiah Cotton. He was one of the presiding Judges at the trial of the British soldiers for the massacre at Boston 5 Mar 1770.

In 1743 John built the Walnut Tree Hill Mansion, a large and imposing building. The mansion burned in 1872.42

From the Genealogy of the Cushing Family, page 49:2
    Elijah and Elizabeth in 1728 settled in that part of Hanover since annexed to Pembroke, where he built a large substantial house, which was held by his descendants of the fourth generation. He is called ‘Lieut.’ and ‘Capt.’ on the Records of Hanover. He was a deacon of the first Congreational Church in 1729; and for many years a justice of the peace; first representative of the Town in 1737; and selectman from 1728 to 1739. Justice of the Court of Common Pleas (Plymouth Co.) 1757 to 1762. ‘He was one to whom much of the public business of the Town was confided, and he executed his trust with fidelity and success.’ He was probably the Lieut.-Col. Elijah Cushing who on 12 Apr 1739 mustered a company in Hanover for the invasion of Canada.

Benjamin was baptized in Beverly, MA, on 18 Oct 1702. Benjamin died in 1753. Occupation: Weaver, sailor.

Benjamin, originally of Boston, resided with Nazareth in Scituate several years near the north Meeting house.53

From the Genealogy of the Cushing Family, page 50:2
    Benjamin moved early to Providence, RI. Freeman of the Colony of RI 1737; justice of the peace 1747. By papers left by him it appears that he was well established in business as early as 1741, as a furrier and hatter. Among these papers are found also, letters and bills from the Hon. Philip Livingstone and others, showing that he had an extensive correspondence in relation to the fur business. From the year 1750 to the commencement of the Revolution, he was engaged in sending furs to England. Some time previous to and during the Revolution, he, with two others, owned a vessel which they chartered to parties as a coaster. It made several trips to Nantucket.
