John was wounded in King Philip’s War.53 He was living 26 Feb 1777/8 when Lydia James, wife of John James, acknowledged a deed at Scituate.467 John may have been the son of William James, who was in Dedham in 1640, and purchased a farm on the North river in Scituate where he resided.108

    Isaac served in King Philip's War under Capt. Isaac Johnson in the Narragansett Campaign 24 March 1675 and also in the Casco Bay Expedition. In 1733 his heirs made claim to his share of Narragansett #5, Bedford, N.H. (Bodge, Soldiers in King Philip's War, 430). He was a master mariner with the Naval Service and had a brush with piracy near the Brewster Islands, described in Prince Family, 70. Soon after 1700 the family removed to Boston.
