Joshua settled in the ministry at Southhold, LI, in Oct 1674.

On 25 Apr 1656 when Joshua was 26, he first married Margaret Vassall, daughter of William Vassall (ca 1592-1655/1657) & Anna King (ca 1593-prob. bef. 1655), in St. Michael Parish, Barbados.16 Born ca 1633 in England.16

On 16 Jan 1672 when Joshua was 42, he second married Mary Sunderland, daughter of John Sunderland (ca 1623-26 Dec 1707) & Dorothy [Sunderland]. Born 12 Mar 1641/2 in Boston, MA. Mary died in Southold, Suffolk County, New York on 19 Apr 1698.

Mary first married Jonathan Raynsford, second Joshua Hobart.

Jeremiah was minister at Topsfield, MA, at Hampstead, LI, and at Haddam, CT.45

On 6 Apr 1659 when Jeremiah was 29, he married Elizabeth Whiting (4380) , daughter of Rev. Samuel Whiting (1751) (20 Nov 1597-11 Dec 1679) & Elizabeth St. John (2111) (12 Jan 1604-3 Mar 1676/7). Elizabeth died in Hartford, CT.

Torrey’s New England Marriages gives the marriage date of 6 Apr 1659. If that’s correct, then Jeremiah and Elizabeth probably had children before Jeremiah’s birth at Topsfield in 1672.

Josiah was one of the selectmen of Hingham in 1662, 1667, and 1688.45

Note that Henry B. Hoff’s article “A Hobart Puzzle in Massachusetts and Long Island” in New England Ancestors 1 (2000): 23, shows the Boston birth record that states Bethiah, born 5 Oct 1672, daughter of Josiah & Mary Hobart, should read daughter of Joshua & Mary Hobart. Joshua was Josiah’s older brother.

Josiah married Priscilla [Hobart].

On 2 Jun 1658 when Hannah was 20, she first married John Brown in Salem, MA. Born ca 1638 in Salem, MA. John was baptized in First Church of Salem, on 16 Sep 1638.139 John died in Newbury, MA on 29 Aug 1683.

John was baptized in Salem in 1638, but the record doesn’t name his parents.

On 27 Jun 1664 when Bathsheba was 23, she first married John Leavitt, son of Dea. John Leavitt (ca 1608-20 Nov 1691) & [___] [Leavitt] (-4 Jul 1646), in Hingham, MA.45 Born ca 1637 in Dorchester, MA. John died bef 1674.

On 19 Nov 1674 when Bathsheba was 34, she second married Dea. Joseph Turner (8742) , son of John Turner Sr. (3020) (ca 1621-aft 20 May 1697) & Mary Brewster (4066) (16 Apr 1627-aft 23 Mar 1698), in Hingham, MA.45 Born 12 Jan 1649/50 in Scituate, MA.52,62 Joseph died in Scituate, MA on 13 Feb 1724.52 Buried in Second Church Cemetery, Norwell. Occupation: tanner.

Joseph Turner built his home on the northeast section of 20 acres of his father’s farm.42

Israel “removed to Scit. soon after 1676, when, on Apr. 20th of that yr. his house in Hing. was burned by the Indians.”45

“Israel Hobart, shipwright, son of Rev. Peter Hobart of Hingham, (born 1642, died 1731, aged eighty-nine), came into Scituate 1676. His house at Hingham had been burnt by the Indians in the spring of that year. He settled here on the North river, at the well known place, since called Hobart’s landing. His house stood near the ship-yard: it is remembered by some of our oldest inhabitants, as a spacious mansion, adorned with two carved cherubs over the door.”53

On 30 Dec 1668 when Israel was 26, he married Sarah Witherell (3104) , daughter of Rev. William Witherell (1275) (ca 1600-9 Apr 1684) & Mary Fisher (17 Apr 1604-bef 26 Mar 1684), in Hingham, MA.45 Born on 10 Feb 1644 in Scituate, MA.62,52 At the age of 1, Sarah was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 7 Sep 1645.52 Sarah died in 1731.

On 26 Apr 1675 Gershom married Sarah Aldis, daughter of John Aldis (26 Feb 1627/8-21 Dec 1700) & Sarah Eliot (ca Jan 1628/9-12 Nov 1686), in Dedham, MA.190 Gershon Hubbard & Sarah Aldis, married teh 26 of the 3 mo., 1675. Born on 9 Jun 1652 in Dedham, MA.190 Sary, the Daughter of John & Sary Aldis, was borne the 9 of the 4 mo. 1652. Sarah died in Groton, MA, on 14 Apr 1712; she was 59.
