Oliver was admitted pensioner of Queen’s College, Cambridge, 1615; entered Lincoln’s Inn, 1619, and was called to the bar, 1626. He was made Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, 12 Oct 1648.6
Oliver first married Johanna Altham.

Johanna’s grandmother Joan Cromwell (dau. of Sir Henry Cromwell of Hinchinbroke) was aunt both of Oliver Cromwell, the Protector, and of John Hampden.
21 Jan 1637/8 Oliver second married Elizabeth Cromwell.6

Elizabeth was daughter of Henry Cromwell of Upwood, uncle of Oliver Cromwell, the Protector.
On 1 Oct 1645 Oliver third married Elizabeth Oxenbridge.6

On 6 Aug 1629 when Elizabeth was 25, she married Rev. Samuel Whiting (1751) , son of John Whiting (685) (ca 1565/6-Oct 1617) & Margaret Bonner (-9 Feb 1601/2), in Skirbeck, Lincolnshire. Born on 20 Nov 1597 in Boston, Lincolnshire. Samuel died in Lynn, MA, on 11 Dec 1679; he was 82.6 Education: Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, B.A 1616, M.A. 1620.6

According to Mather, Samuel Whiting preached as chaplain three years in private families after his master’s degree, and then went to Lynn Regis, Norfolk, England where he spent another three years as colleague or curate of the rector, and being disturbed by his diocesan, removed to Skirbeck, close to his native place. After burying his first wife by which he had two sons who died in England and one daughter brought to New England, Mather says he married a daughter of Oliver St. John, a Bedfordshire man. Samuel , his wife and son Samuel, came in the same ship with Wheelwright, who had been his neighbor in Lincolnshire, arriving 26 May 1636 and settled 8 Nov in Lynn, freeman 7 Dec. Samuel died not on 11 Nov as in the Lynn records, but 11 Dec 1679.
