On 8 Dec 1763 when Sarah was 20, she married James Cushing (46367) , son of James Cushing (35262) (16 Sep 1716-26 Oct 1772) & Mary Souther (27745) (3 Mar 1715/6-6 Jul 1787), in Cohasset, MA.52 Born 9 Jan 1739[/40] in Scituate, MA.52 James was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 6 Nov 1743.335 James died in Scituate, MA on 5 May 1812.52

James and Sarah resided at Cushing Hill, Scituate. He was a soldier in the Revolution and served all through the War. In a descriptive list of men he is mentioned as 5’9” in stature with a dark complexion.2
