James settled in Spencer, on part of lot 3 now [1841] owned by Captain William Watson; they had one daughter only, Lucretia, born 12-16-1753. She was married to Thomas Dunbar, and afterwards Jonas Lamb, and is now living at the age of 87. Mr. Smith died from home in the war with France, and his widow was married to Jacob Upham.
