In 1796 Polly married Hezekiah Hadlock (62937) , son of Jonathan Hadlock (14 Jul 1742-) & Betty Pettee (55027) (31 Dec 1746-). Born on 10 Aug 1772 in Weare, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Hezekiah died in Guildhall, Essex County, Vermont, on 12 Dec 1855; he was 83. Buried in Keith Cemetery, Guildhall. Occupation: Farmer.

There’s a paragraph in it about the Hadlock family:
    Hezekiah came to town about 1825 and lived where C.G. Barrett now resided; ho died in 1855. His wife died in 1842. They had 3 boys and 3 girls: Cyntlua Jane died in 1852; she was a very bright woman and exerted a great influence; it has been asserted that any person whom she disliked could not be elected to an office in Guildhall; her brother Elon G., was quite a politician in his day, and was on hand to execute any plans his sister directed; he died in 1866. Horace M., the youngest by in the family was a cripple, never being able to stand alone after he was 15 years old, but he lived to be 65; he was a good scholar and the best penman who ever lived in Guildhall.

In 1870 Eliza was living with her daughter Parthena in Barnet.

Janet married James Cade. Born ca 1783.

    James Cade left the British Army for the United States. He was traced by officers to McIndoe, Vermont and the house of John C. Gleason. The officers failed to find him even though he was in the attic making shoes. He married Jane Baird.

Thomas and Hannah were married by David Goodwillie at the Presbyterian Church at Barnet Center.

In 1810 there are no nearby Welch families except those in Groton, Caledonia county (Edmund, Hosea, Jona, & Stephen).

In the 1880 census, it’s reported that James Welch’s father was born in Canada.

There are no Welch families listed in Barnet in 1820 (they’re listed alphabetically, so it’s easy to tell). There are, however, three Beard families in town--Moody Beard, John Beard, and Ruth Beard. In Ruth’s household there are 4 members. If he was alive in 1820, he would be one of them, but there’s no male the right age.
