In 1834 he resided in Bennington, Co., VT, and petitioned legislature for a country poor house which was granted. He also petitioned same body ‘for an alteration of the law authorizing listers to tax persons for their faculty.’”358

Abraham “was born and brought up at North Haven, Connecticut. In 1813 young Abraham Doolittle and two others were fined $2.27 for they did ‘Break the sabbath by whispering, lafing and making Disturbance in the time of public worhip on said day which doings are against the peace and contrary to the statue as made and provided.’” Abraham married Eliza Bixby in 1824 after residing for a time at Wallingford they moved to town of Clay, Onondaga County, New York, near the village of Belgium where Abraham resided and died age 82. Eliza then returned to Connecticut and resided with daughter Phebe at Brooksvale near N.H..”358
