Born on 19 Sep 1798 in Columbia County, New York.537 Jonathan W. J. was baptized in Hillsdale Reformed Church, on 24 Feb 1799.537 Witnesses: Ephraim Rees & Catharine Rees. Jonathan W. J. died in Greenport, Columbia County, New York, on 30 Jul 1849; he was 50. Buried in St. Thomas Cemetery, Churchtown.

According to the 1855 census, the family moved to Greenport in 1837.
