In 1870 Winfield was working for his future father-in-law Thomas Cornell.

Addie is 12 and was born in May 1888. Nellie is nine and was born in December 1891. Both girls were born in Ohio. Elmer and Kate have been married for 13 years and she has had two children, both of whom are still living.
