Mahoning Dispatch, 25 Apr 1879
On Wednesday morning David, a well known citizen of this place was found dead in his barn. He had evidently expired the evening previous to his discovery, as he came to town on Tuesday about 2 o'clock p.m. and returned home in time to do his chores, going to the barn for that purpose before entering the house. He was not missed until supper time, and as he failed to make his appearance during the night, his family became alarmed about him. Early next morning he was found lying on the barn floor cold in death. A post mortem examination revealed the fact that his death came from natural causes and not from apoplexy as was first supposed. He was about fifty years of age, and had but very recently taken out a policy on his life in the Columbus Mutual Life Insurance Company for $3,000 which will leave his family in good circumstances. Funeral services at his late residence today (Friday) a.m.
