    Mrs. Emily Hurlburt, 71, wife of Frederick Hurlburt, of Potter Center, died early Sunday morning, August 10, 1941, at their home, after an illness of only a few hours.
    She was born in the town of Italy, a daughter of Hiram and Mary Phelps Lafler. On January 1, 1888, she was united in marriage with Frederick Hurlburt, of Naples.
    Besides her husbaand, she leaves eight children: Mrs. Leon Donnelly of Potter, Chauncey Hurlburt of Naples, William Hurlburt of Prattsburgh, Charles Hurlburt and Mrs. Ida Cummings of Groveland, Lawrence Hurlburt and Mrs. Charles Watson of Groveland Hill, and Mrs. Hazel Morris of Mount Morris; eleven grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Tuft of Cheshire, Mrs. Mary Fox of Naples, Russell and Asa Lafler of Naples, Barney Lafler of West Cohocton, and Charles Lafler of Dunton, Mich.
    Services were held on Tuesday afternoon; a prayer service at 1 o’clock from the home was followed by services at 2 o’clock from the Potter Baptist church, the Rev. C.S. Emmerson, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was made in Clearview cemetery, North Cohocton.

    Funeral services were conducted in the Ivan R. Wood Funeral Home, Mt. Morris on Saturday at 2 p.m. for Fred Hurlburt, 87, who died in Rest Haven Home, Conesus, Wednesday, Mar. 10, 1954, following a long illness. The Rev. Irving Barrett, pastor of the Village Church, officiated. Interment in North Cohocton Cemetery.
    Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Morris of mt. Morris, Mrs. Florence Conley of Potter, Mrs. Ida Cummings of Groveland, and Mrs. Charles Watson of Groveland; one son, Lawrence Hurlburt of Geneseo; several grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.
