COBB-Funeral services for Charles "Charlie" Melvin Cobb, 84, will be held 2pm Tuesday, August 5,2008 in the chapel at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Florida. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
    Mr. Cobb served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Lakeshore Post # 137, the V.F.W., Elks Lodge and the DAV Commanders Club.
    Mr.Cobb is survived by his loving daughter, Carolyn M. Braisher; son, Charles M. Cobb and his wife Alice; two step-sons, James B. Charbonneau (Evelyn), and Michael T. Charbonneau (Debbie); five grandchildren, Charice (Chris), Amy, Candiace (Travis), Cynthia (Carlos), and Crystalyn; three step-grandchildren, Mandy, Lacey and J.C.; eight great-grandchildren, Dominque, John Paul, Caylah, Cerrah, Carrah, Chelby, Carsen and Caden, and many other loving family members and friends. Charlie touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Family will receive friends on Monday August 4, 2008 from 5PM-7PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Family requests memorials in Charles Cobb name be made to Heartland Hospice or the Hospice facility of your choice.

    Erwin N. Race Jr. (November 2, 1923 - July 15, 2012)
    Erwin N. Race Jr. age 88 of Baldwin, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Fremont. Erwin was born on November 2, 1923 in Ludington, Michigan to Erwin N. and Donna June (Harden) Race Sr. and later married Patsy Riffe on June 19, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. Erwin has been a resident of the Baldwin area for the past 19 years when he moved from Comstock Park. Erwin had been a welder and mechanic in the construction industry for many years and retired from the DWD Construction Company in Grand Rapids. He had also served in the United States Navy during World War II. Erwin enjoyed fishing, vegetable and fruit farming, bird watching and his dog.
    Erwin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patsy of Baldwin; his children, Lynn Marie (Francis) Stankus of Fremont; Scott Lee (Patricia) Race of Grand Rapids; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Crystal Keller; Hope Alice Joyce and Marion Crowley.
    A memorial luncheon to celebrate Erwin’s will be held at a later time following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Audubon Society for memorial contributions in memory of Erwin.

Helen Riffe, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George rifle, Jr., of 618 Lester, died at 9:25 p.m. Friday in a Houston hospital. Surviving are her parents; three sister, Grace, Patsy and Alice Riffe; brother, Jimmie Riffe, all of Houston; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Riffe, Sr., of Austin; her grandmother, Mrs. Grace Wise of Crockett, and a number of aunts and uncles. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fogle-West Company.
