STAMM - After a brief illness, Elizabeth Mary (Betty) Stamm, aged 76, died Saturday, November 8, 1997 while a patient at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was born September 29, 1921 in Detroit to John and Anna (Lieblang) Nuber. Her family lived in Detroit and included two sisters and one brother. Betty and Carroll L. Stamm of Hastings, met during World War II and the couple married in Detroit on February 2, 1946, where they lived until a move to Holland in 1961. She later settled in Austin, TX, working for the State of Texas until her retirement to San Antonio in 1992.
Betty’s death comes after that of her parents; sister, Doris; husband; and nephew, John R. Aranowski. She is survived by three chiuldren, Kate (Bob) Mc Vey of Zapata, TX, John D. (Pat) Stamm of Grandville, and Michael D. (Karen) Stamm of San Antoniao, TX; one sister, Barbara Ann (Richard) Aranowski of Alto; one brother, William Nuber of Napeles, FL; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; one niece and two nephews. A Memorial Mass is to be offered in San Antonio on November 15. She will be interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. American Mortuary of San Antonio assisted with the final arrangements. In lieu of flowers, her children ask that donations be made to Mount Sacred Heart CYO c/o Michael Stamm, 10914 Putman Farms, San Antonio, TX 78230.
