13 Mar 1636/7 Mary first married Thomas Lapham in Scituate, MA.14 Born ca 1610 in England. Thomas died in Scituate, MA bef 23 Jan 1648/9. Buried in First Parish Cemetery, Scituate Harbor. Religion: Thomas was admitted to the Scituate Church 24 Apr 1636.

Thomas came on the Hercules as a servant of Nathaniel Tilden, father of his soon to be wife.

“Thomas Lapham was in Scituate 1640. His residence was near the harbour.”53

Thomas's will dated 15 Jun 1644, inventory 23 Jan 1648, probated 1 Oct 1651. The will was signed by his mark, and his wife Mary was executrix. It names his children Elizabeth, Mary, Thomas, and Lydia. Witnesses by William Wetherell and Joseph Tilden. Inventory £68, by Wm. Hatch & J. Tilden.

Mary second married William Bassett. Born ca 1596 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex. William died in Bridgewater, MA on 12 May 1667. Occupation: blacksmith.

William first married Elizabeth, second married Mary (Tilden) Lapham, widow of Thomas Lapham.

William came to New England on the Fortune in 1621. He resided first at Plymouth, then Duxbury by 1637, Bridgewater by 1656, and settled in Marshfield.16

13 Mar 1636/7 Sarah married George Sutton, son of Ambrose Sutton & Sarah Warner, in Scituate, MA.14 Born ca 1613 in Tenterden, Ashford, Kent. George was baptized in Tenterden, Ashford, Kent, on 12 Apr 1613. George died in Albemarle County, North Carolina on 12 Apr 1669. Religion: Quaker.

    George Sutton had lands laid out in 1638, on the 1st. Herring brook [in Scituate]. His house was near John Daman’s at the south-west end of Green field lane, where it unites with the Drift way.

George came to New England on the Hercules. He was a servant to Nathaniel Tilden and future father-in-law. He was a planter in Scituate from 1638-1643, and was a town officer. By 1650 he was a Quaker, and removed to Perquimans Co., North Carolina, by 1668 with most of his family.196

On 20 Nov 1649 Joseph married Alice Twisden, daughter of John Twisden (10 Sep 1592-12 Nov 1660) & Susanne Stuppell (ca 1600-24 Jan 1691/2), in Scituate, MA.62 “Joseph Tilden married to Ellice Twisden November the 20^th 1649”. Born ca Mar 1633 in Frittenden, Kent. Alice was baptized in Frittenden, Kent, on 31 Mar 1633. Alice died aft 1694.

On 1 Jun 1653 Thomas first married Elizabeth Bourne (1824) , daughter of Thomas Bourne (713) (ca 1581-May 1664) & Elizabeth (ca 1585/1590-Jul 1660), in Marshfield, MA. Born ca 1618. Elizabeth died in Marshfield, MA in Dec 1663. Buried on 12 Dec 1663 in Marshfield, MA.60

On 24 Jan 1664 Thomas second married Mary Holmes, daughter of William Holmes (3 Jan 1591/2-9 Nov 1678) & Elizabeth, in Marshfield, MA.60 “Thomas Tilden and Mary Holmes were maryed y^e 14 of January 1664”. Born ca 1644 in Scituate, MA. Mary was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, in Apr 1661.52 Mary died aft 21 May 1705.

Jan 3 1640/1 Judith married Abraham Preble, son of Robert Preble & Joan [Preble], in Scituate, MA. Born ca 1603 in Wootton, Kent. Abraham died in York, York County, Maine 23 Jan 1662/3.

Abraham Preble was amongst the men of Kent, in Scituate 1636. Soon after 1648 he removed to Georgiana or York.53

Ca 1646 Lydia married Dea. Richard Garrett.42 Richard died in Boston, MA on 29 Mar 1662.

“Dea. Richard Garrett was in Scituate before 1636. He was the first Town Clerk, 1636, also clerk of the Conihassett partners ten years, though not a partner himself, being a skillful penman. His land was nearly in front of the north or first Society’s Meeting-house, as it now [1831] stands, which was probably his house lot. Also east of Eagle’s nest swamp, where his sons John and Joseph settled.”53

“He was the fourth Deacon of the First Church. (Eagle Nest was the large swamp lying south of High Street, now (1936) Thomas Clap Road, in Scituate.)”42

15 Jan 1661[/2] Stephen married Hannah Little (9067) , daughter of Thomas Little (ca 1608/1613-Mar 1671) & Anna Warren (3078) (ca 1612-aft 19 Feb 1675/6), in Scituate, MA.110,62 Born ca 1641.16 Hannah died in Scituate, MA on 13 May 1710.52
