“John had lands contiguous to his brother Nathaniel’s farm, but leaving no children, they were inherited by Joseph the son of Nathaniel.”53

Gravestone Inscription: Here Lyeth the Body of John Tilden who departed this life February 9, 1739 aged 87 years.

On 8 Jul 1673 Rebecca married Lieut. James Briggs (16084) , son of Walter Briggs (5993) (-ca 1684) & Mary (-aft 1684), in Scituate, MA.52 Born in 1645 in Scituate, MA.52 James died in Scituate, MA on 18 Aug 1703.52

“James resided at Conihassett on a part of his father’s farm, which part, with the house standing upon it, was conveyed by gift to him by his parents in 1673, a few days before his marriage. It is thought that the house mentioned in the deed of gift was that named in the deed from Timothy Hatherly in 1651 to Walter Briggs, who built a nwe house upon the farm.”42

He served in King Philip’s war as a lieutenant. He was surveyor of highways, constable 1676, and selectman 1689.42

James died in his 58th year.52

William was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 26 Jun 1664.52 William died in Lebanon, CT 2 Mar 1731/2.334

From Deane’s History of Scituate:53
    William, jr. succeeded his father in business and usefulness in the town. ... He sold his farm, warehouse, &c. to Job Otis 1710, for 400£, and removed to Lebanon, Conn.

William’s son William was appointed administrator of his estate.334

Benjamin had a farm in Marshfield on the North river. He died unmarried in 1693, and left his lands to his ‘seven brothers and sisters,’ and not naming John.53
