John Gager, Mary Gore, and Hannah Gore, who married Stephen Gifford, were children of Samuel Gore and Elizabeth Hill of Rotherhithe in London.

Stephen was not the son of William Gifford of Sandwich. It’s also been suggested that Stephen was a son of John and Margaret Gifford of Saugus and Lynn, but evidence of a connection is lacking.

Stephen’s will was dated 27 Mar 1718, proved 20 Dec 1724.
