Joseph built the mansion called ‘Willowmere’ on High Street in Bristol which was still standing in 1926. He became a freeman of RI in 1747, and on 10 Feb 1746/7 he took the Oath of Bribery and Corruption at a town meeting held in Bristol. He was buried in thee old East Cemetery in Bristol under a stone carved with the Reynolds coat of arms which showed three foxes on the shield. The will of Joseph Reynolds of Bristol, ‘Inman’, dated 16 Feb 1757 and proved 5 Feb 1759, mentioned: sons Joseph and Samuel Reynolds; daughters Phebe wife of Daniel Waldron, and Elizabeth Watson of Plymouth deceawsed; and two grandchildren, John and Elizabeth Watson, children of his daughter Elizabeth Watson of Plymouth deceased.328

Joseph served in 1713 as a Lieut. with the Bristol Company of the Rhode Island Militia.420
