On 23 Aug 1662 when John was 20, he married Sarah Stedman, daughter of John Stedman (ca 1601-16 Dec 1693) & Alice (-6 Mar 1690), in Cambridge, MA.27 Born 11 Jan 1643/4 in Cambridge, MA.411 Sarah was baptized in Cambridge, MA, on 5 Jun 1664.25 Sarah died 1 Mar 1729/30.411 Religion: Sarah was admitted to the First Church in Boston on 21 Apr 1666.

Ca 1663 Priscilla married Capt. Nathaniel Reynolds (6435) , son of Robert Reynolds (2503) (ca 1598-27 Apr 1659) & Mary (-18 Jan 1663), in Boston, MA. Born ca 1627 in England. Nathaniel died in Bristol, RI on 10 Jul 1708.420 Occupation: Shoemaker.25

Nathaniel first married Sarah Dwight, second Priscilla Brackett.

According to Savage,25 Nathaniel was of ar. co. 1658, freeman1665, and ‘I think that capt. in Philip’s war on service at Chelmsford 25 Feb 1676. He is in Boston tax list of 1695; but perhaps had some years lived at Bristol.’

Nathaniel’s father’s will left him a large amount of property, and the family home on the corner of Washington and Milk Streets in Boston. He lived in Boston until about 1681 when he and his family removed to Bristol where he built a home on the northeast corner of Bradford and Thames Streets.328

Nathaniel had signed with the Proprietors on 27 Aug 1680 for a thirty-second part of the Mt Hope Lands, and was an original settler of Bristol. He was one of the founders on 3 May 1687 of the Congressional Church at Briston, and was elected grand juryman, sealer of leather, and selectman of Bristol. Capt. Nathaniel Reynold’s will called him of Bristol, and it was dated 7 Oct 1706 and proved 3 Nov 1708. He mentioned no wife, but named five sons: Nathaniel (eldest) of Boston, John, Peter, Joseph, and Benjamin (youngest) Reynolds; daughters Sarah wife of John Fosdick of Boston, Mary Woodbery, Hannah wife of Samuel Royall of Boston, an d Ruth Reynolds; his sister Mary Sanger of Watertwon; his house in Boston, his farm and house in Briston, and his 500 acres in Quenepank (Quinapaug). An inventory of his estate in Boston, located in the south end, was dated Boston 3 Nov 1708 and totalled £794 5s 6d.328

Nathaniel was select Mar 1685 Chief Constable for the City of Boston. Later he served as Lieut. and then Capt. in the Massachusetts Militia.420

Sarah first married John Shaw, son of John Shaw (ca 1617-28 Jul 1678) & Martha Keene. Born on 16 May 1646 in Boston, MA.301 John died ca 1677/8.

Ca 1681/2 Sarah second married John Benjamin, son of John Benjamin (ca 1620-22 Dec 1706) & Lydia Allen (-10 Jan 1708/9). Born on 10 Sep 1651 in Watertown, MA.301 John died bef 12 Jul 1687.301

John’s firwst wife was Mehetable Swetman.

Sarah third married John Jimmerson.

Sarah’s third husband, surnamed Jimmerson, may have been John Ginison.301
