The Descendants of Col. Jonathan Wade and Some of His Descendents Who Settled in Rhode Island, A Speical Report for the Rhode Island Historical Society, 3 May 1999, by Charles, V. Waid. Parts I and II, page 4 also says that Johathn married Mary Colbeare. It adds that she was born about 1682 in Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Roberts’ Governor Thomas Dudley and descendants152 states that Jonathan Wade married Mary Dolbear in 1701 at Medford, and that Mary Dolbear was born 13 Apr 1677 at Medford, “she appears to be of unknown parentage.” But there are no references to justify these statements.

Mr. Wade was an innholder, in whose tavern, “at the sign of the Fountain in Mistick,” on Monday, the 27 Dec, 1714, arose a brawl between Capt. Edward Sprague and Thomas Newhall, jr., of Maiden, resulting in the Captain being sadly bruised about the head, thrown to the floor, and barely escaping from being pitched out of the window. As usual, both parties seem to have been at fault.
Mr. Wade attained to the military rank of Captain and died 9 Dec, 1738. Administration was granted to his widow, Mrs. Lydia Wade, 8 Jan., 1738-9.
On 17 Oct 1706 when Samuel was 22, he married Lydia Newhall (35012) , daughter of Lieut. Thomas Newhall (17349) (18 Nov 1653-13 Jul 1728) & Rebecca Green (16684) (ca 1654-25 May 1725), in Medfield, MA.321 Born on 17 Apr 1687 in Malden, MA.227 Lydia died aft 1739.
