    (#171) William Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 16 March, 1702, m. 1st Miss Moore. She d. soon after birth of second child.
    He m. 2nd about 1760, Anna Bishop, b. 1737. After Mr. Phelps' death she m. 2nd a Mr. Parsons and resided in Wintonbury, Ct. After Mr. Parsons’ death she resided with her daughter, Roxanna, in Litchfield. Ct., where she died Jan. 19, 1813, aged 76.
    Mr. Phelps settled in Windsor, Ct. — Say his descendants “he enlisted in the Revolutionary army early in the breaking out of the war, and died in camp at Middlefield, Ct., 1776.” Says the “Soldiers of Conn.,” published by the state — p. 408, “5 Battalion, Wadsworth's brigade, Col. Douglas' regiment, Capt. Printice Co., William Phelps, a private.” Co. raised in 1776. Probably this William with his company with the regiment ordered to Long Island, and may have died before leaving Ct.

    (#172) Ensign Ebenezer Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 2 Apr., 1705, m. 7 Dec, 1727, Mindwell Eggleston, (daughter of Thomas and Grace (Moore) Eggleston) b. Windsor, 24 Nov., 1703, where she died.
    Mr. Phelps settled in Windsor. He was a farmer. He earned his title to Ensign in the French war of 1755. His will dated 21 Sept., 1756, mentions son Ebenezer, wife Mindwell, and daughters Abigail, Mindwell, Agnes, Sarah, and Lucy. He died in Windsor, 22 Sept., 1755, in his 52nd year.
