    (#173) Capt. Caleb Pheeps, b. Windsor, Ct., 11 June 1708, m. 1st. 24 Dec, 1730, Mary Moore, (daughter of Edward and Mary (Taintor) Moore,) b. Windsor, Ct., 13 May, 1707, where she died 20 Apr., 1747, in her 40th year. He m. 2nd Mary Eathrop, 22 June, 1749. widow of Walter Henderson, by whom she had two children, Mary and William.
    COLONIAL RECORDS.
    Feb., 1757. — “This Assembly do establish Mr. Caleb Phelps to be Ensign of the ist Company, or Trained Band, in the town of Windsor, in the first Regiment in this colony.
    May, 1757, — This Assembly do establish Mr. Caleb Phelps to be Lieutenant of the ist Company, or Trained Band, in the town of Windsor,
    Oct., 1761. — This Assembly do establish Mr. Caleb Phelps to be Captain of the 1st Company or Trained Band, in the town of Windsor, in the first Regiment in this colony.”
    Captain Caleb Phelps settled in Windsor, Ct., where he died 15 July, 1781. He was an officer in the Revolutionary army.

    (#174) Dea. Jacob Phklps, b. Windsor, Ct., 18 Jan., 171 1, m. 30 Dec, 1744, Abigail Alvord, (daughter of Benedict and Abigail (Wilson) Alvord), b. Windsor., Ct., 29 Aug., 1716, died 3 July, 1814, probably at her daughter Mary's in Hingham, Mass. Benedict Alvord was an officer in the Revolutionary army.
    Mr. Phelps settled in Windsor, Ct., where he died 24 June, 1804, in his 93rd year. His will, dated in 1786, mentioned wife Abigail, sons Jacob, William, Oliver, Alexander, daughters Abigail, Tabitha and Mary.

Samuel first married Ruth Phelps, second Damarius Gilender.

    Lieut. Phelps first settled in Windsor, Ct., where one of his children was born, removing from there to the settling of Harwinton, Ct,, in the northwestern part of the town, where he died of consumption, 14-17 August, 1754, in his 44th year.
