    (#161) Joseph Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 16 Mar., 1692, m. 3 Mar., 1715, Susannah Eno, (daughter of James Jr. and Abigail (Bissell) Eno,) b. Windsor, 16 May, 1699, died in Hebron, 11 Dec, 1778, in her 80th year.
    Mr. Phelps settled in Hebron, Ct., and d. 17 Oct., 1761, aged 69 years. His father was one of the largest real estate owners in Hebron.
    “May, 1713, upon the petition of Joseph Phelps, of Windsor, requesting some allowance for several things lost by his son Joseph Phelps, a soldier improved in a scout under the command of Lieut. Crocker, in his escape from the Indian enemy: this Assembly grant to the petitioner the sum of thirty shillings to be paid him out of the Colony Treasury.”—(Col. Rec, Vol. 5.)

    (#163) Capt. Edward Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 1697, m. Deborah Bissell, 18 Jan., 1723, by the Rev. Mr. Marsh of Windsor. She was widow of Bissell, and daughter of Daniel and Mindwell (Bissell) Griswold, and was b. Windsor, 7 Nov., 1698, died in Harwinton, Ct , 18 Jan., 1771. (By her first marriage she had no children.)
    Capt. Phelps settled in Harwinton for a time, and was one of the first settlers of Litchfield, Ct., where he died 3rd May, 1790, in his 93rd year.
    Capt. Phelps' will dated 26 Nov., 1773, and proved 2 June, 1790, in Litchfield Probate, gives his son Edward, lands in Litchfield and Salisbury, and refers to daughter Deborah, wife of Alexander McNeil, and Min dwell, wife of George Catlin, and refers to: Ebenezer, Samuel, Ashbel, and Truman Marsh, sons of Ebenezer Marsh, dec., and to daughter Lucia.

    (#166) Capt. Abel Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 19 Feb., 1705, m. 1st, Jerusha, about 1730, b. Goshen, Ct., 1706, d. Simsbury, Ct., 1 Jan., 1736. He m. 2nd, probably Mary Pinnuck of Hebron, 6 July, 1737.
    Capt. Phelps served in the French war, where he received his military title. He resided in Simsbury, Ct., for a time, and also in Goshen, Ct., where he was a large real estate owner. He also appears to have resided in Norfolk, Ct., where he was selectman in 1755. He died either in Goshen or Norfolk, Ct.

    (#168) Capt. Ichabod Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 3 April, 1708, m. 10 Dec, 1730, Martha Tillotson, b. 1715, d. Hebron, Ct., 3 Feb., 1786. aged 71 years. He m. 2nd widow Hubbell of Bolton; by her he had no issue.
    Mr. Phelps settled in that part of Hebron known as Gilead Hill, and about twenty rods south of the Gilead meetinghouse. He served in the Revolutionary war in Capt. Skinner’s Co. as sergeant, enlisting Aug. 25, discharged Nov. 8, 1777. He also served in the war of 1755, as captain in Col. Quartus’s company. Frequent reference is made to Captain Ichabod Phelps in manuscript records in State Library, Albany, N. Y., in war of 1755.
