From John Rogers of Marshfield:236
The record of baptisms, from which the foregoing was taken [William through Malachi], begins, in 1739; it is not certain, therefore, that there were not older children; but if so, they must have died young, because none are mentioned in the will; for the same reason, it is assumed that Hannah and Malachi also died young.
Will of William Rogers of Marshfield, laborer, d. April 13, 1764, p. May 20, 1764, mentions wife, Susanna; sons, Jonah Rogers and Joseph Rogers; daughter, Sarah Rogers and grand-daughter, Lydia Rogers whose parents are not named, but probably the daughter of his son, William, as Malachi, if living, was only about seventeen years old at date of will.
On 13 Jan 1731 William first married Margaret Sylvester, daughter of Joseph Sylvester (ca 1674-) & Mary, in Marshfield, MA. Born on 11 Apr 1709 in Marshfield, MA. Margaret was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 5 Jun 1709.52 Margaret died in Marshfield, MA ca 1748.236
