From John Rogers of Marshfield:236
    John died about 1762, and Thomas Stockbridge was appointed Adm’r: no real estate : the papers describe him as a tailor and mention widow and heirs, but no names are given: his estate was insolvent.
    An indenture, dated Oct. 16, 1710, shows that Hannah Rogers, wife of John Rogers^2, of Marshfield, was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Sprague, and was then living.
    Several deeds from John Rogers, of Marshfield, tailor, between 1710 and 1744 have been found, to none of which is his wife, Hannah, a party: among them is a deed in 1732, to his son, Stephen, of Marshfield. B. XXVH, p. 180.
    In 1744, there is a deed in which he mentions the land of his son, Stephen, and his wife, Sarah, joins, as she does in deeds after that date. B. XXXVII, p. 77.
    In 1748, he conveyed land to Moses Rogers, but the deed was not acknowledged, and was proved in Court in 1763, after his death; Sarah’s name is not in this deed. B. XLVII, p. 227.
On 11 Dec 1700 John first married Hannah Sprague (16287) , daughter of Sergt. Samuel Sprague (10582) (ca 1640-ca 1709) & Sarah Chillingsworth (6067) (ca 1642-1725), in Marshfield, MA.60 “John Rogers and Hannah Sprague were Married December 11 : 1700”. Sarah, widow Turner.236

From John Rogers of Marshfield:236
    Philip Turner (”son of Sarah Rogers, the wife of John Rogers, of Marshfield, and grandson to Elisha Wing”) and Rebecca Jenney, daughter to Nathan Jenney and Priscilla, his wife, were married “7 mo. 7 th, 1750” Sandwich Fr. Rec.
    Elisha Wing, of Wareham, in his will, (1752) mentioned “Philip Turner, the son of my daughter, Sarah,” “and the two children my daughter, Sarah, left by her husband, John Rogers,” giving them one-third of his household stuff.
    And Elizabeth Wing, daughter of Elisha, in her will (1756) gave a legacy to Philip Turner, son of her sister, Sarah Rogers, and also, to “Betty Hoxie, wife of Silas Hoxie, and daughter to my said sister, Sarah Rogers.” Vol. XIV, p. 199, 326.

More from John Rogers of Marshfield, page 185:236
    The identification of the John, who married the widow, Sarah (Wing) Turner, was established by a deed from Betty (Rogers) Hoxie and court records, which the accidental discovery of the deed led to finding.
    Betty (Rogers) Hoxie conveyed real estate which came to her as the heir of Stephen Stockbridge^5, son of Thomas and Hannah (Rogers^4) Stockbridge; see p. 50. How she could have been his heir, was a decided puzzle; but it was found that under the law as then existing (which was soon after changed) when a man died without children, father or mother, brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, his surviving uncles and aunts inherited his property to the exclusion of the children of deceased uncles and aunts. The nearest relatives which Stephen left (besides Betty Hoxie) were cousins;
therefore, as Betty inherited his property, she must have been his aunt, which she could be only as the half-sister of his mother, Hannah Rogers^4 (John^3, Timothy^2) and the John whom Betty’s mother married, must have been Hannah's father.
