From John Rogers of Marshfield:236
Israel and his sons were shipbuilders and gained a high reputation as such. See Briggs’ Shipbuilding on North River.580
Four of his children married children of Benjamin and Mercy (Philips) Hatch of Scituate; see deed dated Mar. 3, 1790. B. LXIX, p. 266.
Israel Rogers of Marshfield conveyed, Apr. 29, 1783, to his son, Nathaniel of Marshfield, part of a lot “which fell to me in the division of the estate of my Father, Timothy Rogers, deceased”.
Abijah. Beyond the record of his birth and baptism, nothing has been found relating to him; while his death is not recorded in the church records, he probably died young.
Araunah. Briggs, in his Shipbuilding, says that Araunah married Deborah Davis. There is a faint tradition that he went “Down East”. We find no mention of him — even of his marriage — in any
record.
Howland. Briggs also says that Rowland married Hannah Davis.
But the History of Thomaston, Maine, says that Capt. Howland Rogers, born in 1764, came early from Marshfield to Thomaston as a ship carpenter; married Hannah Bradford; removed to Medford, Mass., where he died, March 1, 1814. His children were:
