On 9 Apr 1750 when Martha was 45, she second married Matthew Gannett, son of Joseph Gannett (ca 1648-14 Aug 1693) & Deborah Combs (say 1660-19 Sep 1728), in Bridgewater, MA.501 Born on 12 Oct 1688 in Scituate, MA.52

There were two contemporary Matthew Gannetts in Scituate. They were cousins, grandsons of Matthew and Hannah Gannet. Mathew and Hannah’s older son, Matthew and his wife Mary had a son Matthew born 1685, while their younger son Joseph and his wife Deborah had a son Matthew born 1688. To distinguish between these two Matthews, the elder one was sometimes called Matthew Sr. while the younger one Matthew Jr. Apparently both Matthews married women named Mary.
