Note that this Amos Jones is not the Amos Jones who died in Putney, Vermont in 1859. That Amos was born in Royalston, Massachusetts, son of Amos & Lydia Jones. He first married Lephe Estabrook and second Charlotte Sabin.

This Amos Jones is not the Amos Jones who died 13 Apr 1850 in Dearborn County, Indiana, whose wife Phebe Edgett Jones died there 29 Jul 1858. That Amos and Phebe had children with different names.

There’s a mortality schedule which says an Annis Jones died 1860 in Potter, age 94, born in Connecticut, and was buried in Nettle Valley Cemetery.661 This may have been a misreading of the record and it was Amos Jones who was buried there. Amos would have been 87 in 1860.
Ca 1794 Amos married Phebe. Born on 19 May 1772 in Massachusetts.660

According to the 1880 census records for sons Parker and Enos, Phebe was born in Massachusetts.

The written Vital Records of Lanesborough660 have on page 52 the births of Nathaniel Jones 10 Mar 1779 and Hannah Jones 20 Jul 1786. They’re on the same page, not near any other Jones families, and their parents aren’t named.

There are a number of other Jones buried at Millington besides these. They may or may not be related.
On 16 Apr 1807 when Nathaniel was 28, he married Lavina Tryon, daughter of Dea. Elijah Tryon (15 May 1761-8 Sep 1863) & Truby Priest (4 Feb 1764-21 Oct 1865).102 Born ca 1782 in Vermont.574 Lavina died in Northville Township, LaSalle County, Illinois on 18 Oct 1861. Buried in Millington Newark Cemetery.

According to some genealogies, there was a Lavinia Tryon, born 29 Dec 1785 at Fair Haven, Rutland Co., VT, daughter of Elijah and Truby (Priest) Tryon, who died 18 Oct 1863 in West Haven, Rutland Co., VT. Is it possible that this is the same Lavina Tryon, but there was a confusion in the year and the source didn’t mention she had married and actually died in Illinois, or are these two different people, probably cousins?

Lavinia’s parents were living in West Haven in 1850. There’s no Lavinia Tryon to be found there either in 1850 or 1860.
