Enos Jones (38477) & Prudence Lincoln
54721. Hannah Jones. Born on 30 Jul 1786 in Lanesborough, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.660

The written Vital Records of Lanesborough660 have on page 52 a paragraph of Jones and Phelps births:
Nathaniel Jones was born 10th March 1779
Hannah Jones was born 30th July 1786
The following is the record of births in the family of John Phelps & Hannah his wife
Mary Ann was born 18th Jany. 1809
    Richard F. was born 16th July 1810
This paragraph is written in one hand and separated from other paragraphs in the written record by a space. That suggests the the Hannah Jones is the same person as the Hannah Phelps and that her brother is Nathaniel Jones. The marriage of John Phelps and Hannah Jones is recorded on page 6.

The town clerk Asa Burbank transcribed the town records in 1816 in the Lanesborough Copy of Births, Marriages, and Deaths to 1816 and grouped that family together with
Milo Jones born 11 Sep 1810, Illegitimate
on page 56 of his book. He would have known these families personally.
On 30 Dec 1807 when Hannah was 21, she married John Welton Phelps (63000) , son of Hezekiah Phelps (56074) (6 Jan 1758-17 Aug 1822) & Mary Welton (55358) (10 Jun 1760-6 Sep 1811), in Lanesborough, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.660 Born on 31 Mar 1785 in Harwinton, CT.116 John Welton died in Hounsfield, Jefferson County, New York, on 2 Feb 1861; he was 75. Although The Phelps Family of America116 has John W. Phelps listed among the children of Hezekiah, he has no entry of his own indicating the authors had no information about him.

(John Welton Phelps is not to be confused with John Manly Phelps,. b. 29 Nov 1782 at East Haddam CT)
