“Joshua was a sea captain in the employ of Gibbs & Chamerey, merchants of Newport, R.I, for whom he sailed for many years, being tired of the sea and having saved some money he determined to purchase a farm and retire from sea service. He was taken suddenly sick and died after a short illness, Sept.. 5, 1799.”

There’s some question about the children of Ezekiel and Eunice in that they’re supposedly born before the asserted date of their marriage which is reasonable for their ages.

Rathbone Geneology. From Stonington he moved to Lee, MA where he lived for some time. He moved from there to Rutland, VT where his first wife died. He then moved to Sempronius (now Niles) Cayuga County, NY about 1795.
On 13 Sep 1776 Daniel enlisted in Capt. William Francis’s detachment of the Berkshire Militia and marched to Williamstown from Pittsfield, MA. He was discharged 21 Sep 1776, but enlisted again on 21 Jul 1781 in Capt. William Lord’s Company, Col. John Brown’s Massachusetts Regiment, and discharged 17 Oct 1781.

Reuben joined the Shakers and lived some time with them and became one of their elders. Becoming disgusted with them, he left, and wrote a book Reasons for Leaving Them. Signed Reuben Rathbone.
