    Jonathan resided at Carver and Marshfield.
    Jonathan was a man of many business interests. He built and conducted a Furnace in Carver for 14 years. He owned a forge in Hanson and a store in East Bridgewater. In 1810 he went to Marshfield and erected a cotton factory which he carried on for 28 years. This was the first cotton factory put in operation in Plymouth County.
    His last days were spent in Scituate in the mansion now known as “The Elms” near Norwell Center.
On 16 Dec 1791 when Jonathan was 23, he first married Huldah Magoon (55811) , daughter of Aaron S. Magoon (40819) (24 Mar 1744-14 Apr 1828) & Mary Church (44714) (29 Jan 1748-1 Apr 1817), in Pembroke, MA.284 Born on 25 Dec 1769 in Pembroke, MA. Huldah died in Pembroke, MA, on 30 May 1831; she was 61.284 Buried in South Parish Cemetery, Norwell.
