On the 1879 Atlas of Plymouth County, James and Mercy’s chlidren–C.L. Ford, Mrs. P. Ford, and B. Ford–are all shown in the community of East Pembroke. It’s likely that they lived on the same land. This community is right on the boundary with Duxbury, at the intersection of Elm and Taylor Streets in Pembroke, and Myrtle and Union Streets in Duxbury, about a mile west of Route 3. The Atlas indicates that the Ford land was on the southeast side of Taylor Street.
