    Mrs. Harriett Williams Herrick Dead
Mrs. Harriett Williams Herrick passed away at the house of her daughter, Mrs. O. A. Shadbolt, 627 Pine Street, Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Mrs. Herrick has been ill with a cancer for about a year and has been confined to her bed for the past six weeks.
Mrs. Herrick was born in 1834, near Novia, Ohio, and has been a resident of this county for 75 years, coming to his state with her parents when only a small child. In 1840 she was married to Arad Williams, and they made their home in Bennington township until about 12 years ago when they moved to Owasso. Mr. Williams passed away and later she was married to Hiram Herrick of Fremont, where she resided until about 12 years ago since which time she lived with her daughter Mrs. Shadbolt.
Among her close circle of friends and in her home Mrs. Herrick’s life has been fillled with the examples of unselfishness, cheerfulness, and love which marked her character.
The surviving children are George R. Williams of this city; Mrs. Henry Hutchings of Perry; William R. Williams of Corunna, and Mrs. O. A. Shadbolt. The funeral services will be held at her home Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock, the Rev. J. S. Steininger, the paster of the First M. E. Church, officiating. Internment at the Alton Cemetery, near Pittsburg.

The date of 1840 for her marriage is obviously wrong as she would only have been six years old in 1840. A birth year of 1834 is also corroborated by the 1850 census where she is 16 years and living with her parents.
