    “Brundish, John.
    “A tanner, came to Watertown, Mass., thence to Wethersfield with first settlers. The name later was spelled Brundage.
    “Inv. 27 Oct. 1639. Widow Rachel and five children; two older girls, a boy, and two younger girls, all under 16 yrs.
    “An original unrecorded deed, dated 20 May 1639, witnessed by Andrew Ward, Edrnund Wood, and Robert Rose (the last by mark), not signed by the grantor John Brundish; the second part, dated 23 Nov. 1639, is a confirrnation given by the widow as Adm’x, and states: ‘but Providence so disposing of the aforesayd John Brundishe that before the tym that the mony was due & ye writing(?) confermed He put an end unto his lyf.’ Hence he d. between 20 May and 27 Oct. 1639, which disposes of suggestions that he was killed by Indians in 1637.
    “The widow Rachel m. Anthony Wilson of Fairfield, about 5 Aug. 1642, as the badly defaced probate record in Fairfield mentions agreement of that date. At Rachel’s death (1648?), Anthony Wilson was to have the homelot in Fairfield that was Rachel Brundish’s, and to pay legacies to the children, John Brundish, Mary wife of Francis Purdy, Bethia Brundish and Posthume. The tanner’s tools had been sold, and John was to have the money.
    “John Brundish of Rye, on 24 May 1667, having formerly sold to his father-in-law Anthony Wilson, land in Fairfield, exempts such lands as the heirs of Francis Purdy possess, except that Joseph Taylor now possesses the remainder of my lands not above exempted.”

1505. Thomas Hubbard. Born ca 1603/4 in Mendelsham, Suffolk.
1506. Samuel Hubbard. Born ca 1610 in Suffolk, England. Samuel was baptized in Mendlesham, Suffolk, on 10 May 1610. Samuel died in Baptist Berkly's, Whitehall Farm, England on 10 May 1689.

From Savage:25 Samuell had come to Salem, says Backus, in 1633, then a youth, removed to Watertown, but Bond names him not, thence to Wethersfield, then up the river to Springfield, and was there one of the five founders of the church and had the first child on record. The next year he was at Fairfield, and the following year fixed at Newport. He was recorded 3 Nov 1648 into the Baptist community and there he passed quiet life till great age.
4 Jan 1635/6 Samuel married Tacy Cooper, daughter of Thomas Cooper & Mary Raynor, in Windsor, CT. Born 12 Feb 1608/9 in Mendlesham, England. Tacy died in Westerly, RI 27 Feb 1686/7.

1507. Anna Hubbard. Born ca 1614. Anna died aft 23 Jun 1674. Religion: admitted to the Dedham church 16 Apr 1641.14
On 8 May 1638 Anna first married William Barstow (1293) , son of Matthew Barstow (598) (29 Jun 1565-), in Dedham, MA.14 Born ca 1612 in Shelf, Yorkshire. William died in Dedham, MA 1 Jan 1668/9.14 Occupation: carpenter, planter.

On 19 Sep 1635 “Wm Beeresto” aged 23 and “Geo Beersto” aged 21 were enrolled at London on the Truelove as passengers for New England.14

William settled for a time at Dedham, then removed to Scituate where he was a freeman in 1649. His house was about one hundred rods northwest of Hanover corners on the east side of the Plymouth road. He built ‘Barsto’s bridge’ in 1656.53

“William Barstow came to New England in the ship Truelove in 1635; settled first in Dedham, where several of his children were born. He was Freeman in Scituate in 1649, in that part that became Hanover in 1727, and built a house about 40 rods back of the site of the Second Congregational Church on Oakland Avenue. Its cellar hole can still be seen (1937). William Barstow was the pioneer shipbuilder in Hanover, near Barstow’s bridge, the first bridge over North River, built by him in 1656. He received from the colony £12 for its erection.”42

In 1670 Anna second married Eld. John Prince, son of Rev. John Prince & Elizabeth Tolderbury.45 Born ca 1610 in East Sheffield, Berkshire. John died in Hull, MA on 6 Aug 1676.165 Education: Oxford.

“John came to New Eng. 1633, and was in Hing. 1635, when he received a grant of land in the Broad Cove meadows. Was freeman 4 March, 1635. He removed to Hull ab. 1638. ... He ad received a liberal education at oxford University, Eng., and after locating himself at Hull, was a ruling elder there for many yrs.”45

John settled at Nantasket in 1638. He had been three years at Oxford University, but he did not engage in the ministry. He was chosen the first ruling elder at Hull in 1644.53
