"A 62 (118) Will of Jeremy Osborne of ÔÔEshforde,ÕÕ co. Kent, tanner. Dated 3
Sept. 1620. Probate 12 Apr. 1621 to Joseph Osborne, son of testator. To the poor of
Ashford, 20s. To my son Joseph, my Turkey carpet. To my son Richard, my silver cup
and two silver spoons with knobs. To my son Thomas, seven silver spoons. The
residue of my household stuff to be divided between my said sons, with proviso that
Custance my wife have so much of my plate and household stuff as she shall think fit
for her life. Also to my wife, all the money she has in her keeping. To my son
Thomas, my tanning vessels etc. The residue of my goods and chattels to my son
Joseph. Executor, son Joseph. Overseers, Mr. John Walleis and my uncle Robert
Hunt. To my wife Custance lands and tenements [specified] for her life. To my son
Joseph, a messuage, lands and tenements sometime Robert Mellows. To my son
Thomas, the tan house for five years, paying rent for 20s a year therefor to Joseph
and allowing him a convenient way to the malthouse and river. To my son Richard,
lands [specified] in St. Dunstan and Ebeny and Ilenwood pa. Ashford, and
Willesborough. To son Thomas, copyhold lands in Ashford, late Richard Haldens.
