From the Loring Genealogy, page 34:107
    John resided on Long Lane in Boston. Was constable, assessor, selectman at various times; a trusted member of the Old South Church; one of the committee to raise money for last bills on their meetinghouse in 1730. His negro slave Margaret was baptized in 1737, and he “engaged for her education,” a humane provision of Puritan slaveholders. He died October 15, 1752. There is no evidence that either of his children lived to marry or inherit his estate.
    Jonathan made his will in 1752; it was proved November 3, 1752; gave life use of his estate to his wife; made bequests to “her relations by blood” of the Austin family, and to the following “relations by blood of his own,” namely: his nephew, Josiah Gifford, of Sandwich; Rev. Israel Loring, of Sudbury, and his son, Jonathan Loring, of Marlborough; to the children of kinsman Daniel Loring, late of Boston, Isaac Loring and his daughter, Priscilla Patten; to cousin Sarah Blanchard, widow of Joshua Blanchard, and her sister, Ruth Loring, of Boston, single woman; to kinsman Rev. Thomas Prince, of Boston; to Capt. Joseph Prince, his son Joseph (”having lost his eyesight”), and his daughter, Mary Ballard; to Ruth Soper, daughter of uncle Isaac Prince, late of Boston, and to the children of Dr. Moses Prince.
Ca 1702 Jonathan married Elizabeth Austin, daughter of Richard Austin (ca 1632-15 Aug 1703) & Abigail Batchelder (2 Jul 1638-1 Feb 1693/4).107 Born on 6 May 1673 in Charlestown, MA.107 Elizabeth died on 26 Apr 1756; she was 82.107

    Elizabeth, in her will, March 2, 1754, proved May 28, 1756, ordered the executor to complete payment of the legacies her husband had made; and gave the residue of her estate to her Austin relations, specified.
