John Adams bought 5 Jun 1683 of Gookin & How 200 acres lying between John Bent on the East, the Rice and Pratt lands on the south, taking in Jacob’s meadow, and the west line following the brook to the river, and bounded on the north by the David Stone land. He built northeast of Dr. H. Cowles’, near the railroad crossing. He was known as one of the Sudbury “out-dwellers.”
