John Ruggles (7302) (19 May 1657-28 Feb 1711/2) & Hannah Devotion (13624) (ca Dec 1654-17 Dec 1700), in the Second Church of Scituate.52 Born 8 Mar 1696/7 in Roxbury, MA.78 John died in Scituate, MA on 5 Dec 1772.52 Buried in South Parish Cemetery, Norwell.

    John came to Scituate in 1719. He purchased lands of John Barstow’s heirs, midway between Herring brook hill, or the south Meeting-house and Jordan lane. His house was twenty rods south of the present road.
